Mount Assisi School, Bhagalpur, is an English Medium coed school, established and conducted by the T.O.R Franciscans. The heavenly patron of the school is St. Francis of Assisi. It is governed by the Gokhla Franciscan Society which is a Religious and Charitable Organization registered under the Societies Registration Act. 1860.

The T.O.R. Franciscans run several Schools in India and abroad in which young people belonging to every creed, social class, community & linguistic group are educated through the medium of English and the regional languages. These institutions are part of Catholic Church’s effort to share in the country’s educational understanding. This effort, while particularly responsible to the Christian community, has always been at the service of the whole nation. Thus the primary purpose this institution, recognized as a Christian minority institution of Bihar under article 30 (1) of the Constitution of India, is to educate Christian children, however, non Christian children may also be admitted. The religious beliefs of all students are treated with respect.

The school was established on 10th January 1972. It is divided into Junior and Senior sections but it is a single entity with one Principal and administration. Vice Principals supervise the day to day affairs of the school.

The Junior School is situated in the heart of the town. The ambience of the campus is serene and salubrious which facilitates a proper environment for education and fruitful training for life.

The Senior Section at Rani Talab, on Sabour Road, has a large and resplendent campus. The school is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (C.I.S.C.E) in 1979 for ICSE and ISC (X, XII) in 1992. Mount Assisi equips every student with the strength of character that enables him/her to face the highly competitive society of today with ease and confidence.

The institution has a holistic approach to education whereby the scholastic performance of the pupil is reinforced by the Christian and Franciscan ideals of universal brotherhood, love, peace, joy and kindness. Exemplary discipline, outstanding academic performance and excellence in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are the hall-mark of every Mount Assisi student. Almost all the students who passed through the portals of Mount Assisi have found their life’s goal in various parts of the world and are happily settled.
